Our Process Explained - Stage 2

Posted on 18/11/2014

Calling all contractors!

Today’s blog is for you. We’re going into the second stage of our process where we tend to work with the Main Contractors of a project. As always, we’re happy to step into a project at this stage, jumping head first into a design that’s already well on it’s way. If we have worked with your architect at Stage 1, we’ll already know the ins and outs of the project, we will have studied the project feasibility and the specification and we’ll be raring to go and get things moving.

It’s in Stage 2 of the process that the project goes out to tender to the sub-contractors. We’ll work alongside the Main Contractor to make sure that all the pre-determined requirements are met throughout the tendering process. During this, we focus on collaboration and negotiation, working really closely with the contracted team to make sure all the building regulations and specifications are met and are kept neat and tidy.

We don’t underestimate the importance of finding the right installation and fabrication sub-contractor for the job, and we definitely don’t underestimate the pressures of the tender process. That’s why we’re here for you to lean on. We use our expertise and consultation skills to help you throughout the tender process. We help you find what you’re looking for so that the future of the project is in safe hands. We know that the procurement process can be as instrumental as the design process, so we work closely with the main contractor.

All the questions will have been answered in Stage 1, so during Stage 2, we’re checking that the questions have remained the same. Of course, sometimes things change, which is why we offer a completely flexible service. We don’t want to constrain creativity, we want your designs and the project to be the best things out there.

If we join your process at Stage 2, we spend a lot of time reading. We want to know the ins and outs of the project, to make sure we have a 360 view of what you want to achieve. It’s only then that we’ll be able to help out and offer you the best service possible. We want to know as much as you do about the project, so that you can get the most out of Glass Blocks. We also have some great partner companies that can help out with the tendering process, and we’re more than happy to get them involved in the process if there’s a need.

We know not all projects have a procurement stage, so fear not if you’re working independently. We’re still happy to work with you if you need us to supply Glass Blocks. We’ll make sure we can find what you’re looking for and that our products suit your needs and requirements.
